Delicious and exceptional white Burgundy made from 40-year-old vines grown in the Mâconnais.
This winery is quite a recent project and takes its name from some mysterious writing carved into the wall of the cellar. Grapes are sourced from a 12-hectare plot in the village of Bussières to the south of the Mâconnais region, with an average vine age of about 40 years.
A classic Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy – fine buttery and floral notes on the nose and a wine of substance and finesse on the palate. Ripe and very approachable with aromas of citrus and stone fruit. The palate has a soft creaminess backed up beautifully with zesty citrus freshness and superb minerality. The finish is long and fine. The subtle richness makes this an ideal accompaniment to classic Burgundian fish or chicken dishes with creamy sauce.

This is a deliciously structured Chardonnay with bright generous fruit, a powerful breadth in the palate. Muscular, bold and pleasing its a proper glass of what is arguably New Zealand's, let alone Nelson's most exciting variety. It is powerful and Burgundian, with flicked matchstick on the nose that gives way to brioche & toast notes. Wonderful Chardonnay. Enjoy with pork tenderdoin in a rich creamy sauce, roast chicken, ham hock, smoked salmon pate, creamy vege linguine and hard cheese.

From the South of France and produced by Jeff Carrel who many wine critics say, is the next ‘Steve Jobs of wine’ because he is doing things very differently – This vintage has won a heap of Gold medals since its release. It is a lightly oaked Chardonnay, and it is an absolutely phenomenal wine - as good in our opinion as a Chablis 1er Cru. But that's just us, you really do need to try this one.
