Description:
This winery is quite remarkable: it is accepted as the oldest continuous wine producer in the world, making wine since around 1000 AD.  It is also the third oldest company in the world too.  The noble family are alive and well, still own the beautiful Chateau de Goulaine as the ancestral home. The marquis himself is a figure reminiscent of the Scottish enlightenment; very keen on the arts and botany, in fact the family run a butterfly farm on the estate.

Tasting Note:
This Merlot proffers a lovely depth of ripe plum and prune combined with an almost herbal quality.
