Jeff Carrel 'En Coteaux' Pinot Noir Single Bottle
Country: France Region: Languedoc
Varietal: Pinot Noir Vintage: 2020
Colour: Red Style: Dry
Producer: Jeff Carrel
Description:
‘Eclectic winemaker’ Jeff Carrel is one of a group of revolutionaries who, renting part of a cellar and specially sourcing grapes, make fabulous wines that follow no rules but “is it possible”? His brilliant Pinot has now been a cult favourite with customers for years.
High altitude vineyards in southern France, cooled by sea breezes, are rapidly becoming France’s “second home” for great Pinot Noir … and far better value than Burgundy
Thanks to Jeff’s “pocket book” of small growers, all stubbornly loyal, he is able to ring-fence the very best fruit from top vineyards that would be too small for their own label
Light touches of oak – just enough to add complexity, whilst allowing the Pinot fruit to really shine – complete a red that punches miles above its price point
Tasting Note:
Bright vermillion red with top notes of fresh cherry and deeper forest floor complexity. A fresh, rounded palate adds riper fruit, darker cherries and hints of spice.
Food Matches: Red Meat / Beef / Lamb / Shellfish
