Aged Tawny Ports have been aged in wooden casks for an extended number of years and in the process their colour lightens and they take on a softer character. Tawnies are generally filtered before bottling so don't need decanting. Fonseca retain their enviable reputation for quality, specialist ports. This the 10 year old is the junior partner of their tawnies and has a subtle russet colour and a fragrant, ripe bouquet. Smooth and silky in the mouth its balance between acidity and tannic grip leads onto a long elegant finish. For a well regarded producer this represents superb value for money.
