Description: Eric Kientzler presides over this jewel of an estate, based on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Ribeauvillé. Comprised of 13 hectares including holdings in the Grand Crus of Geisberg and Osterberg, Eric produces an array of whites from Riesling and Gewürztraminer, as well as this outstanding Crémant,
The original personality and unblemished quality of Crémant d’Alsace has had resounding success not only in Alsace but also in other French regions and throughout Europe. Today Crémant d’Alsace has become the top AOC sparkling wine to be consumed in homes across France after Champagne.
Auxerrois is most at home in Alsace, particularly in the north, where the cooler climate helps this low-acid variety achieve good levels of freshness. As a wine, Auxerrois has a fuller bodied. Auxerrois can produce quality wine with plenty of citrus Flavors, often with a rich, musky aroma profile. As it ages, it can take on honeyed Flavors and will deepen in colour.
Tasting Note: Crafted from 100% Auxerrois grapes, the Domaine Kientzler Cremant d'Alsace is a light straw colour, with notes of lime, lemon peel and apricot flesh. It's juicy and mouth watering with persistent bubbles and long length. This feels a bit more elegant and refined than some, everything balanced and harmonious with a lovely lingering lemon brioche note at the end
Food Matches: Spicy Fish Cakes, Salmon, Paté
