Campillo arose from a dream of creating a winery surrounded by vineyards, thus transferring the concept of Château to the land of Rioja wine.. An architectural space that opens to the Sierra Cantabria and Laguardia. When you climb the large staircase and cross its doors you feel all that led Julio Faustino Martínez to share his two passions, wine and architecture, in Campillo.
The grapes used for Campillo Reserva Selecta come from the Villa Lucía estate, which is situated 650 metres above sea level and is home to a continental and Atlantic climate, which ideal for growing grapes.
Gran Reserva means that this wine is only made in exceptional vintages and is aged for a minimum of five years before it leaves the winery.
Tasting Note: This is a wine that is slightly garnet in colour, the nose gives off aromas of beautiful dark fruit with a mellow butterscotch creaminess in the background and has a super long finish that will leave it in your thoughts for hours.
Food Matches: This is a wine made for many types of food, but give me blue cheese and fresh crackers and I will be more than happy.
