Think quality French, think Burgundy, think Chablis and Fleurie. Two of Burgundy's most popular wines - a classy, steely Chablis with a creamy underlay and a delicious fruity Fleurie - the King of Beaujolais, packed with raspberry fruits and soft mellow tannins. Presented in a wooden box.
1 x Domaine Chatelain Chablis, Burgundy, France
The Chatelain family has owned the domain for generations, working the unique kimmeridgian soil of Chablis. A special composition of pebbles, limestone and clay dating from the Jurassic period. This famous kimmeridgian soil, together with the influence of the river Serein and the microclimate of Chablis, create the basis of the reputation of Chablis: a rich and elegant white wine with its delicate mineral style.
From a family owned estate this is a traditionally styled Chablis with elegant citrus flavours and a lovely minerality. It is well balanced with a refreshing finish.
1 x Fleurie - Domaine Joseph Drouhin Cru Beaujolais - Burgundy, France
A stalwart on the Irish market, Joseph Drouhin Fleurie delivers consitently good weight of fruit on the palate and is one of the reference wines for this appellation. Drouhin is one of the blue chip Burgundy houses and has always been one to follow.
Winemakers Pitch Fleurie is certainly worthy of its name! It possesses great charm and delicacy, with its luminous raspberry color, aromas of lilac, violet and gooseberry. Very supple and silky in the mouth. Leaves a beautiful impression of fine aromas. It is the most delicate of the Beaujolais Crus.
