Think quality French, think Burgundy, think Chablis and Fleurie. Two of Burgundy's most popular wines - a classy, steely Chablis with a creamy underlay and a delicious fruity Fleurie - the King of Beaujolais, packed with raspberry fruits and soft mellow tannins. Presented in a wooden box.
1 x Union des Viticultuers Chablis, Burgundy, France (Int'l winemaker of the year 2016)
This winery is comprised of 300 winegrowers that produce the great white wines of Chablis. The quality of these wines reflect the care the winegrowers devote to the cultivation of their vineyards and the commitment our winemakers bring to revealing the heart and soul of the wines. It is this subtle harmony between the grower in the vineyards, the technical advisor and the winemaker which bestows on these wines their much sought-after distinction. The winemaker Vincent Bartement won international White wine Winemaker of the year for 2016. Grown on the rich clay and limestone soils of Chablis, this is fresh and crisp with peach and citrus flavours - Fantastic as an apéritif or with smoked salmon.
1 x Fleurie - Domaine Mommessin La Presle Cru Beaujolais - Burgundy, France
In the northern part of the Beaujolais, on the granitic soil of the slopes surrounding Fleurie, the vineyards of Fleurie produce the most feminine of all the Beaujolais wines, also known as the "Queen of beaujolais". According to the local tradition this is due to the influence of the Virgin of Fleurie who watches over the vines from the hilltop where she stands.
