When choosing a white wine for the Classic French Christmas hamper we wanted a wine that would impress everybody. At this level, we want a wine that will work sumptuously with the food and support the full flavours of a Christmas Dinner. We tasted many wines and the general consensus of our team, was that this white Burgundy, was nicer than any Chablis or Chablis Premier Cru that we tasted alongside it. The best general Burgundy wines can be better than Cru wines like Chablis or even Chablis 1er Cru. This is elegant and wonderfully structured, with delicious minerality. You'll love this we hope.
Alain Girard et Fils Domaine des Brosses Sancerre

With Christmas Dinner comes a requirement for a wine of great complexity. Firstly, this Sancerrre has at least 9 months lees ageing. That means that the wine is in contact with the yeast with which it was naturally fermented for at least this long before bottling. There is an elegance of herbs and stone here, balanced beautifully underneath a fresh, citrus palate. There is a round body and lengthy finish with complex flavours and mouth filling freshness. Perfect weight and balance with a wonderful refreshing Sancerre Character. We chose this carefully, ahead of other competing wines for the star space on your Christmas table.
Chateau La Fleur Cravignac

A family property, just one kilometer from the small medieval city of Saint-Emilion. It covers Just under eight hectares of vines grown on clay and limestone soils characteristic of Saint-Emilion. Its vineyards are composed 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. We import the wine directly from Jean Colbert and his wife from the property. It is quite simply the best Saint Emilion Grand Cru we have come across in the last 6 years of tasting wines there. It is a small property with an output of less than 3,000 bottles and the quality is exceptional. We hope you love this wine as much as we do.
Chateau Les Reuilles Réserve Bordeaux Superieur

This wine comes out of the glass firing on all cylinders with a plethora of crushed black fruits, attractive notes of black cherries, blueberries, loganberries, minty freshness, oak references, mocha and milk chocolate. It’s an attractive nose that continues to present pleasant black fruits for as long as your nose is in the glass.
There is even more wonderful black fruit character coming through when you taste it. with layers of juicy black currants, huckleberries, crushed elderberry fruit and underlying oak references, coffee and lacy minerals. The midpalate is fine and balanced with lots of structure, that mint note and the tannins are kept in check through the finish, which is again rich in black fruits and even a hint of spiciness. A superb, lingering after-mouth with pure black currant juice lasts for well over 30 seconds. Watch how it opens after hours and hours and enjoy it with Christmas Dinner it is succulent and juicy and made for roast Turkey!
