WineOnline.ie are delighted to be holding two evenings in January 2026 as part of our Meet the Winemaker Dinner Series, with Ryan Hancock of Vasse Felix. The events will take place in Dublin on January 29th and Cork on January 30th.

It will whet the appetite of the recipient to come along and learn ore about the history of one of Australias oldest wineries. The dinner tickets are each valued at €120 and this tasting case includes two tickets for either event. The evening will consist of a three course dinner with 6 wines from the Vasse Felix Estate. Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay
Vasse Felix Chardonnay is typified by its bright, elegant fruit, subtle wild complexities, tight structure and fresh acidity, reflecting the vibrancy and purity of this variety in Margaret River. ‘Filius’ translates to ‘son of’ in Latin, reflecting the relationship between this wine and its Premier ‘father’.
This Chardonnay has a nose of green apple, lemon, vanilla, hazelnut. A little bit of creaminess, but nice acidity and balance. Tastes lighter and brighter than a Napa Chardonnay. A lot of fresh fruit on the palate and amazing finesse.

This wine expresses the distinct regional profile of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon and the site characters it takes from the Vasse Felix vineyards, with a focus on Wilyabrup. It was the first red wine produced in Margaret River and has been made every year since 1972. Cabernet is a robust variety ideally suited to Margaret River's climate and deep, well drained soils.
Vasse Felix Estate Premier Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River’s founding wine estate combines pristine terroir with a treasured heritage and priceless old vines to make one of the world’s greatest environments to grow ultra-premium cabernet sauvignon. The vineyards are set in the northern part of Margaret River, centred in the Wilyabrup sub-region.
The signature Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from premier sections of Wilyabrup cabernet, with the finest gravel loam soils, and access to the cooling ocean breeze. It was the first red wine produced in Margaret River in 1972. Our panel of experts found this wine intense yet elegantly structured, and quite extraordinary for its colour, unique aromatic structure, freshness of flavours, finely sculpted tannins and overall harmony. Notes of blackcurrant and red cherry intertwine with cedar and lavender. A vibrant palate displays raspberry, blackcurrant, wood spice and sweet tobacco leaf, leading into a rich volume of fine, extending tannins.
