Description:
Jacques Seysses established Domaine Dujac in 1968 with the purchase of four and a half hectares. His children now manage one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates. In addition to the estate, Jacques Seysses and his sons Jeremy and Alec have launched a négociant business: Dujac Fils et Père, which is the focus of this discussion. Winemaking is carried out with the same meticulous care as at the family vineyard (Domaine Dujac). Jeremy, his wife Diana (an American oenologist), and Alec Seysses are involved. The estate, certified organic, covers approximately fifteen hectares in the finest terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, particularly in Morey-Saint-Denis. The estate's wines have excellent aging potential; they are generally characterized by great complexity and finesse.
Domaine Dujac, located in Morey-Saint-Denis and now run by the Seysses brothers, is one of the most renowned estates in all of Burgundy. Its wines are consistently of the highest quality, representing the pinnacle of what Burgundy has to offer. The label, inspired by the work of Gérard Potel at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or, is a testament to a golden age in Burgundy. The estate's wines are so highly regarded that a négociant business has emerged, drawing inspiration from the estate's working methods and benefiting from their extensive winemaking expertise. The Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras displays a beautiful minerality, stemming from a limestone plot dominated by scree and small pebbles. The palate, vigorous and elegant, requires a few years of aging to fully develop and reveal its full potential.
