Produced by Domaine des Deux Vallées in France’s Loire Valley, Anjou Blanc Clos de le Casse comes from a family run estate focused on expressive Chenin Blanc from sustainably farmed vineyards. The domaine is located in the Anjou appellation, where a mild Atlantic influenced climate and long growing season allow Chenin Blanc to develop ripeness while retaining vibrant acidity. Vineyards are planted on schist, sandstone and clay rich soils that contribute texture, minerality and freshness to the wines.
Tasting Notes:
Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and older oak barrels to preserve freshness while adding subtle texture and complexity. The wine spends several months ageing on fine lees before bottling, enhancing mouthfeel without overt oak influence. Aromas of quince, pear and citrus combine with white flowers, honeyed notes and a distinct mineral edge. The palate is fresh yet textured with lively acidity, ripe orchard fruit flavours and a long saline finish.
Food Pairing: It pairs beautifully with shellfish, goat’s cheese, roast poultry and creamy vegetable dishes.
