“This beauty stopped me in my tracks with its sheer class and purity. […] This is a heavenly Saint-Julien that brings the richness of the vintage alongside an unmistakable sense of class. Bravo!”
We are pleased to offer the 300th vintage of Chateau Gruaud Larose. To mark this historic anniversary, the wine is presented in a beautifully screen-printed bottle finished with a gold wax seal.
Chateau Gruaud Larose is one of Saint-Julien’s great historic estates, celebrated for producing deeply classical Bordeaux with power, perfume and longevity. Founded in the 18th century and now celebrating its 300th anniversary, the estate sits on exceptional gravel soils near the Gironde estuary. Gruaud Larose combines Cabernet Sauvignon structure with remarkable aromatic complexity, delivering wines that balance old-school Saint-Julien character with increasing polish and precision.
Gruaud Larose 2025 is a beautifully refined Saint-Julien that combines the richness of the vintage with striking freshness and elegance. Aromas of cassis, violets, tobacco, graphite and dark chocolate unfold into a layered palate framed by silky tannins and mineral tension. Jeb Dunnuck called it a “heavenly Saint-Julien”, while critics praised its purity, balance and classical structure. This is a serious, age-worthy Gruaud Larose with immense long-term potential.
Unwinding in the glass with notes of dark berries, cassis, plums mingled with hints of violet and pencil shavings, the 2025 Gruaud Larose is medium- to full-bodied, supple and suave, with a deep core of fruit, lovely energy and ripe, powdery tannins. Checking in at 13.5% alcohol, this blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc will bear a special gold label to commemorate the estate's 300th anniversary.
