Meet the Winemaker | Di Camillo Vini | Thursday 19th June 2025 | DUBLIN

€100.00

Wineonline.ie are delighted to welcome Paolo Di Camillo to Ireland. In over 25 years of working together, this is Paolo’s first Winemaker Dinner in Ireland. In that time his wines have found a loyal following from WineOnline.ie customers, owing to their approachable and elegant style, alongside the great value for money they offer.

Di Camillo Vini is a family business and Paolo is head winemaker and he is joined in the business by his daughter Sara.  The family winery was founded in 1887 and in the early 1900’s the first wines were exported. In the 1960’s the family built their now famous winery which Paolo and Sara upgraded with a deep underground cellar in 2018. They are based in the small hillside town of Poggiofiorito in the hills high above the coastal town of Pescara on Italy’s Adriatic coastline. It is an incredibly scenic provence, and an area that is green and hilly, not unlike Co Wicklow. What is different however is the hillsides enveloped with vines and olive trees as far as the eye can see.

The evening will begin with Thair Spumante, a delicate sparkling wine produced at the estate. We will taste through 4 of di Camillo’s whites and a further 5 of their reds, including the flagship Contessa Camilla and Tenute del Pojo Imperium Riserva, aged in Slavonian barriques for more than 18 months. The evening will culminate with a tasting of Contessa Camilla Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2011 from Jerobaum.

There will be a limited number of Jerobaums available for you to take home on the night which Paolo has offered to sign on the evening. They come in a presentation rope handled case for easy transport and make a great present to have in the cellar for a Di Camillo fan! In all, we will taste 10 different wines from the Di Camillo Estate in Abruzzo.

Under the guidance of restaurateur Oliver Dunne, we will enjoy three courses of haute cuisine in a relaxed setting of the private terrace, which is reserved exclusively for this event. Be sure to mark this in your calendar and get your tickets early, for this one will be the wine events of the Summer!

*Tickets are non-refundable*
