Description:

The Château de Fieuzal White  is a Grand Cru Classe produced in the Pessac Leognan appellation. Since 2016, the 10 hectares of vines planted with white grape varieties have been converted to Organic Agriculture. The vineyard is planted on gravelly soils characteristic of the appellation. The Château de Fieuzal White 2016 is aged in 400-liter new acacia barrels and 225-liter barrels previously used for one wine.

From July to October 2016, the summer settled on the plots of De Fieuzal with tenderness, high thermal amplitudes between the days and nights, and some thunderstorms. As a result, significant water reserves were created and grape maturation continued slowly. Even though the volumes are rather low, the organoleptic quality of the wines of Château de Fieuzal promise to be exceptional.

It develops subtle and discrete aromas of white fruits (pears, white peaches), combined with floral notes. It is very fine, with a bold and precise acidity conferring a tension on the palate. The Château de Fieuzal White expresses a clever marriage of freshness and minerality on the finish, while leaving behind a lingering touch of salted butter.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The de Fieuzal Blanc reveals subtle lime cordial, lemon juice and pomelo scents with wafts of peach blossoms and tangerine peel. Medium-bodied with a good core of vivacious citrus flavors in the mouth, it has a racy backbone and mineral-tinged finish.
