The origins of Gomez Cruzado date back to 1886 , when Mr. Angel Gomez de Arteche founded the winery and decided to produce and bottle wines in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta . Thus, one of the century-old wineries that wrote the history of modern Rioja at the end of the 19th century was born in the Station district of Haro .
Gomez Cruzado Crianza is a red wine made in the DOQ Rioja by Gomez Cruzado in Haro, La Rioja, a winery founded in 1886 in the well-known Haro station neighborhood, where the most classic and renowned wineries in Rioja Alta are located. The vineyard is located in three areas of the Rioja Alta, in Sierra Cantabria, Najerilla and Alto Najerilla based on sustainable viticulture.
Gómez Cruzado Crianza is made from Tempranillo vineyards (80%) from Sierra Cantabria and Garnacha (20%) from the Najerilla highlands. A pre-fermentation maceration of 3 days is carried out and it is fermented in stainless steel tanks with daily pumping over. Aged for 12 months in mainly American oak barrels.
Tasting: On the nose, Gomez Cruzado Rioja Crianza opens with ripe cherry aromas, enhanced by gentle touches of vanilla and a smooth, creamy undertone. On the palate, this red wine has amazing acidity and structure as well as a phenomenal finish.
