“‘A very fresh, piercing nose of sliced lemon with plenty of sweet perfume, too. The palate is similarly intense and vibrant with white stone-fruit and lemon flavors, delivered in an impressively intense and balanced mode.”

Wynns Estate Shiraz
Coonawarra, Australia
1 x 75cl Bottle
Wynns is the historic Coonawarra estate, founded in 1891 by John Riddoch. It is one of Australia’s most iconic wine estates. Amongst the worlds best wine critics to have written reviews is Jancis Robinson, who said of Wynns Shiraz:

"Every now and then – though perhaps not as often as I’d like – a wine comes along that is obviously and absurdly underpriced. This is one of them"

Jancis goes on to say:
"This is really serious – and surely underpriced?" (on the 2019 vintage).

Coonawarra's cool climate and famous terra rossa soils are now rightfully celebrated the world over. This region's reds are seen amongst Australia's greatest. Much of this is down to Samuel Wynn and his son, David, who bought an almost desolate vineyard in 1951 with no expectations of making a profit. Today, the Wynns Coonawarra Estate label is one of the most recognisable in Australia. This Shiraz has upheld the great reputation for more than half a century. Bright. Fresh. Silky. It's medium-bodied, with juicy notes of red fruits, blackberry and spicy black pepper. Try it with beef or veggie dumplings and a spiced yoghurt dressing.

"Current prices for Wynns Estate Shiraz are almost inexplicably low. Big companies do big deals and often need bargaining chips. I fear this wine has become one of these. But why not take advantage of this?"
