Description:
Exiled to France during the Civil War, Enrique began in the family vineyard located in the Minervois (southeast of France) and later launched in 1952 as a wine merchant in the Rhone and Loire Valleys (France). At the end of 1962, he ceded those two operations to buy in 1963 two Châteaux in the Haut-Médoc (Bordeaux) - Château Larose Trintaudon and Château Camensac, Grand Cru Classé with the desire to produce some of the best wines in the world.
In 1968, he returned to Spain, his native country and, as a century earlier when Bordeaux winemakers and merchants landed in La Rioja fleeing from phylloxera, Forner chose the town of Cenicero in the heart of that prestigious Denomination to continue his great dream.
Tasting Notes:
Deep colored wine with a high layer, glyceric and unctuous in the glass. Intense nose, with sensations of fruity freshness wrapped in a highly integrated wood that complements but without masking the fullness of the Tinta del País varietal in Ribera del Duero. Fresh and lively mid palate, with an elegant complexity, with creamy nuances and fine toasted notes. Surrounding and dense polymerized tannins. Subtle and elegant. Balanced to drink now and able to age in the bottle for several years
