Artuke La Condenada, Rioja, Spain
97 Points
1 x 75cl
I still have vivid memories of my visit to La condenada: Such a very singular parcel of bush vines planted in 1920, each an individual character, each a survivor. The vineyard and the wine are a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha along with the white Calagrano. Fermentation is in 600 Litre Oak and careful ageing develops a pure, fresh wine with fine tannins for elegant ageing.

Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy
100 Points

Statuesque and Stately. From Chestnut forest and sweet earth to anise and orange extract, the aromas are viscereal, and boundless depths of wild red berries suffuse the palate. Scintillating acidity, long tactile tannins.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella
Veneto, Italy
95 Points
1 x 75cl
A cooler wetter vintage has imbues this Amarone with a balsamic, leafy character while retaining plenty of concentration. Rich and vibrant, it opens with mint chocolate, coffee and black peper scents, while a background of woody tannins supports creamy black and purple fruits. Good acidity cuts the richness and the wine finishes with some red and blue berries and a leafy note.
Drink 2025 – 2028
Alcohol 12.5%
Yalumba The Octavius Old Vine Shiraz
Barossa, Australia
97 Points
1 x 75cl
Aromatically complex – Red Berries, liquorice, clove, vanilla and wild herbs. An inky density, but with amazing purity of fruit. Bright piercing acidity with tannins that are refined yet carry a sense of both opulence and seduction. Clean and sleek, full and mouthwatering, with liquorice, cherry blossom and strawberry fruit.
Drink 2025 – 2040

Cullen, Kevin John Chardonnay
Margaret River, Western Australia
96 Points
1 x 75cl
The plush, inviting nose abounds with candied lemon and zest, rosebud, white florals, ginger root, almond meal, and a lime sherbet lift. Oak is understated and elegant offering light toast and cedar perfume.
Wet limestone minerality and lime pith sit on a silvery thread of acidity. The chardonnay fruit was picked on eight dates according to the lunar calendar, and from three different blocks of gingin clone. Classy and impressively persistent.
Drink 2025 – 2038
Alcohol 13.5%
Catena Zapata Nicolas Vineyard
Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina

floral, perfumed and beautifully balanced, with layers of red fruits and precise French Oak spice. The palate is voluminous and tense, before the chalky freshness, fine grained tannins and mineral backbone come into play. A wine intended for bottle ageing.
