Vintage: 2002 Colour: Red Style: Dry

Description:
The 'jewel in the crown' of the Northern Rhone. The grapes are entirely destemmed and vinified in concrete tank. Daily pumping over ensure a good extraction of the colour and tannins. The temperature of vinification does not exceed 32˚C. Only the free-run juice is used. Entirely aged in oak casks (225 litres), with a proportion of new ones between 14 and 18 months. Length goes on and on.
Tasting Note:
Deep, almost opaque, ruby red wine with garnet rim. Intense, developed bouquet of mature blackberry fruits with soft spicy wooded tones and sweet pepper. Dry with big tannin structure. Huge fruit development on the palate, blackberries, black cherries, Christmas cake and vanilla - all combine to give a powerful yet classy wine in the true southern style. Length goes on and on. Well rounded and very smooth. Will improve over the next 10 to 15 years.
