1 x Pencarrow Sauvignon Blanc
Martinborough, New Zealand
Winemaker's Discovery explores the distinctive character and ripe varietal flavours of Marlborough in New Zealand. Palliser have a reputation for award-winning quality, our wines are from premium vineyards of the New World. Each wine from the Winemakers Discovery range features a different wine region from around the world. The variation in climate and sunshine of each region imparts particular characters in the wine and gives them a sense of place.
Tropical and citrus fruit flavours dance on the palate with generous Marltinborough acidity giving structure and length. A fresh, fruit-driven Sauvignon Blanc.
1 x Las Moras Reserve Malbec
Malbec Las Moras Reserve Malbec is a big-red wine with purple shades. In the nose, the aroma of plums prevails, but we can also detect other ripe red fruits, chocolate and vanilla, which give this wine an excellent aromatic complexity. In the mouth, it is fresh and elegant. What I love so much about it is the balanced Oak - which delivers quality way beyond its pricepoint. One of the best Reserve Malbecs in Ireland right now. A must try for Malbec fans.
1 x Domaine Cassagnau
At the heart of the AOP Cabardès, a few km from Carcassonne, appellation marked by the alternation of West and East winds, the vineyard climbs on the slopes of the sunny and rocky slopes of the south of the Montagne Noire, from 230 to 360 meters of altitude. Breathtaking views make it possible to admire at a glance the chain of Pyrenees in the South, the Massif Central in the North and the famous City of Carcassonne located at 5 kilometers.
1 x Chateau Roc de Levraut Bordeaux Superieur
Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot The Chateau Roc de Levraut receives its name from the enormous boulders that are scattered through the area of rolling hills composed of clay and limestone soils, a characteristic that was no doubt cursed by the original Ballarins who had to clear the soil with oxen, but now cherished because the terroir leads to a distinct sense of minerality in the tightly knit wines.
The 2014 is in the classic structured style that shows red and black fruit, a touch of cassis, that mixture of dark berry and sage-like herbal musk so prevalent in Bordeaux reds, and a lovely plump blueberry from the Cabernet Franc. The tannins are noticeable, but don't dominate the wine, suggesting instead that there will likely be a few years of aging capacity here.
1 x Marques de Concordia Rioja Reserva
Haro, Rioja, Spain
A classic Rioja revisited, this is a fruit-driven style with an unmistakably traditional vanilla and savoury character. 100% Tempranillo and aged in French & American Barrels for 24 months, it displays deep red berried fruit, well integrated oak and a touch of spice all wrapped up in velvety tannins. It cries for Grilled Lamb chops or chorizo and pork belly casserole. If you love our classic Monte Real Reserva you will adore this!
1 x Ferdinand Mayr Na Als Dan Gruner Veltliner
Ferdinand Mayr is a musician from Austria, with a great love for wine. Since 1997 he has made the switch to wine and started as a winemaker in Krems. In addition, he also works as a négociant and, together with a number of befriended winegrowers from, among others, Niederösterreich (grüner veltliner) and Burgenland (swallows), he brings a number of fine wines to the market.
Attractive pale lemon with bright straw colour. Crisp and dry finish with clean citrus lemon flavours. This wine has a lingering, fresh fruity flavour with very good balancing acidity. It is superb Value for Money wine show.
