Chateau Sirio is owned by an Irish/ French couple, Emer and Fabrice, independent winemakers since 2015 at Château Sirio, in the Graves AOP. They follow sustainable practices to attain the finest expression of our Graves terroir.

Château Sirio is a 12-hectare AOP Graves estate located at the gates of the village of Cérons on the left bank of the Garonne River. The building, which dates from the 18th century, is composed of a farmhouse and vat and barrel cellars. Their vines are planted in one piece around the property, surrounded by forests. A natural wetland with a pond and bamboo trees provides coolness even in summer. In fact, they benefit from a microclimate that is one or two degrees cooler than their neighbours, which has an impact on our pruning and harvesting schedule, always about two weeks delayed. This singular geography allows them to control the care given to our soils and vines, isolated from any other external influence.

Their commitment to quality and respect for the environment extends to the entire production process, from vineyard work to bottling. They enrich the soils with organic fertilisers, they grass their rows, they prune their vines following the sap flow, and they harvest each plot at optimum maturity. Since 2023, they are members of the BEEFRIENDLY label, the label of farmers committed to the protection of pollinators. They do not use CMR products on the estate.

The Wines

Currently, there are 6 hectares of red Graves in production (80% Merlot; 20% Cabernet- Sauvignon) and 3 hectares of white Graves (80% Sauvignon blanc and gris, 20% Sémillon). The wines express all the typicity of their Graves terroir.
The red is elegant and structured, with a lot of finesse, aromas of red and black fruits, and subtly present tannins. They are aged for 6 months in vats, then 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new.

Our whites are dry, fruity and lively, with a fleshy mouthfeel and aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. The Sauvignon and Sémillon are aged for 6 months in barrels, new for the Sémillon and used for the Sauvignon. The lees are regularly stirred.

Food Suggestion: A classic with steak, any rich red meats, or a selection of aged hard cheeses.

Closure: Natural Cork  ABV:14%
