A modern, elegant, cool climate style crafted from the premier parcels of southern Margaret River Syrah (Shiraz). Wild fermented, with a portion of whole bunch fermentation and carbonic maceration, this aromatic, fine-boned Syrah is luscious, spicy and beautifully complex, representing the future of our favourite ‘alternative’ Margaret River red varietal.
This is a gentle, spicy and earthy medium-bodied Syrah, made in small parcels from their Wallcliffe-based Gnarawary Vineyard, where a cooler climate looking style of grape is grown. Small portions of carbonic maceration, whole bunch fermentation and stomping add extra energy and brightness to this pretty wine.
Tasting Notes:
Bright, medium depth, deep ruby in appearance. On the nose, it's fresh and layered, showing boysenberry and raspberry with a subtle wax note and an elegant fragrance of rose petal, curry leaf and pink peppercorn. On the palate it is a wonderful mouth-filling, even texture with lively freshness and fine tannin presence. Flavours of boysenberry and liquorice unfold, finishing with white pepper and a subtle Szechuan spice nuance.
