Sylvain Pataille is perhaps secretly one of the most important figures in Burgundy today. Beyond being a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture, he is also a consulting oenologist for some of the most famed domains in the region.

Tasting Notes: From Marsannay, just where the Côte d’Or starts, Sylvain crafts from old vineyards on clay-limestone soils natural wines that speak to the soul and whisper to the heart. This is 100% Pinot Noir from naturally farmed vines that sees fermentation with the grapes’ native yeasts in fiberglass, 3 weeks skin contact and a long elevage in old barriques. Juicy, multi-layered and tersely elegant: arctic berries with autumn forest floor, black spices, bramble and dark plums.
