Dog Point Vineyard is New Zealand's largest certified organic vineyard by Biogro NZ. They are family owned and one of the oldest privately established vineyards, located on the hill slopes of the Southern Valleys of Marlborough, New Zealand. They produce four wines including a Sauvignon Blanc, and three barrel fermented wines using natural (wild) yeasts including a Sauvignon Blanc fermented in older French oak barrels (Section 94), a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir. All wines are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free reflecting the family's low interventionist ethos. Their primary focus is producing wines of uncompromising quality that will cellar well.

Dog Point’s 2020 Chardonnay is a superb example of the estate’s signature style: concentrated, struck-match complexity balanced by crystalline fruit purity. Sourced from mature, organically farmed vineyards in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys, it opens with aromas of white peach, lemon zest, hazelnut and flint. The cool 2020 vintage lends wonderful tension, allowing the wine’s natural richness to unfold with precision and focus. Subtle oak framing and beautifully integrated acidity give the wine depth while maintaining a vibrant, mouth-watering energy.

Tasting Notes:
A ripe citrus spectrum of fruit is at the core of a complex chardonnay with spice, toasted nuts and gravelly, flint aromas. A pure and focussed palate with a bright, crunchy structure and fine acidity. The complex barrel aged flavours also imparting textures that carry on the back of the fine acidity.
