Description:
Château de Pressac, a "Grand Cru Classé" of the world renowned and exceptional appellation of Saint Emilion, rises above the hillock, called a "tertre" locally, situated at Saint Etienne de Lisse, to the east of Saint Emilion, facing south. The property covers 40 hectares in a single, continuous block, of which 36 hectares are planted in vines.

To the east of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Château de Pressac dominates the commune of Saint-Étienne de Lisse. Since 1997, the Quenin family has had the honour of managing the vineyards and estate of Pressac. Thanks to their philosophy of excellence and their passion for this exceptional terroir, they raised Château de Pressac to the rank of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 2012.

Winemaking and ageing:
Hand-picked in crates, the grapes are sorted twice before being gravity-fed into vats. Vinification by gentle pumping over and/or delestage. Vatting for 19 to 24 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place partly in new barrels. The wine is aged for 16 to 18 months, 95% in barrels (50% of which are new) and 5% in amphorae.

Tasting Note:
Appearance: Deep, vibrant red.
Aroma: Ripe black fruits with hints of spice and oak.
Palate: Powerful and balanced, with a fine tannic structure and a persistent finish revealing notes of dark chocolate and licorice.

"Bright violet-tinged plum color, vivid berry fruit on the opening, with velvety texture that you really see and feel in the glass. Impressive, this has great quality and personality, with crunchy red fruit that has juice without sacrificing depth and complexity. Stands out in the appellation. Tasted twice, excellent both times."

"Bright and vibrant, a lovely cleanness, so pure, so fine and well worked, generous, appealing but the weight and the texture and the tannic integration is flawless. Round, easy, lovely black and red fruits, great chalky coolness with some minerality and liquorice, graphite tang on the finish. A wine you could drink today but know there's power underneath. Compelling and a clear buy. Detailed, finessed, refined, balanced and crisp, juicy and charming. Everything you want in a wine."

"Good depth of fresh black cherries, cocoa powder and dried herbs. This is juicy and focused, with a full body and a long, firm finish. Structured tannins with a dusty texture and plump dark fruit flavours. 70% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carmenere, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Drink from 2028."
