Description
The winery, formerly owned by the Bertani family, reflects a piece of Italian, but above all Veronese wine history. Already in the founding year Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani distinguished themselves through their great enthusiasm and their pronounced progressive thinking. Very early on, the brothers in the Valpantena valley near Grezzana produced a drop so noble that it became a milestone for the entire Valpolicella area.
"The Bertani winery, part of the Angelini family empire, represents the tradition of Valpolicella. Innovation and renewal take place without losing sight of the special character of this soil and its customs."
Tasting Note : Velvety smooth, this is made by a unique winemaking method, resulting in a rich, full-bodied wine that’s full of flavour. The Ripasso (Italian for re-pass) method uses leftover grape skins from Amarone wine production in the winemaking process. By ‘re-passing’ the grape skins, the wine is enriched with extra colour, tannin, and flavour. Expect flavours of red plum, raspberry, and black cherry, alongside a simmering spice.
