Pessac-Léognan is located within the larger Graves wine region in Bordeaux, known for its high-quality red and white wines. The Domaine de Chevalier is a clearing in the middle of the forest that protects it, a sort of secret garden away from the media circuits. This much respected property in Pessac-Léognan is run with great care by Olivier Bernard whose family took it over from Claude Ricard in 1983. During the 1980s and 1990s there was a major programme of replanting here and since the early 2000s, with the vines reaching maturity, the quality here has returned to that of the great vintages of the 1940s and 1950s. Without doubt, the best vintages of Chevalier are the most recent ones.

L'Esprit De Chevalier Blanc 2021

The colour is crystalline, golden hue with green reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers and stony and smoky mineral notes. Then, in the mouth, the wine is marked by a superb freshness associated with great richness. Beyond the magnificent expression of the Sauvignon Blanc, one can perceive the unctuousness of the Semillon. Class and elegance are expressed in fullness in the finish.

94 Pts James Suckling
"Refined and complex nose with a touch of cream and mineral to the salted lemons, chalk and gooseberries. Bright and fluid on the palate with a medium body and a pure, zesty finish. Long, bright and dissolved. 60% Sauvignon and 40% Semillon. Lovely now, but can hold, too."
