Description:
Lamberti is named after one of Verona’s oldest noble families, which has its own famous tower in the city’s Piazza delle Erbe. The winery was founded in 1964 in Cavaion (province of Verona), originally producing just Bardolino Classico.
Now Lamberti is one of the Verona district’s leading wineries and is known worldwide.
The original cellars are located in Cavaion (province of Verona), on Lake Garda, on the Tenuta Preella estate, whose name means “small stone” in local dialect.
In 1994 we began to build an out-and-out winery on the foundations of the old Tenuta Preella barn. This modern pressing plant is now the jewel in the crown of the estate and boasts state-of-the-art winemaking machinery, able to process a total capacity of about 4,000 hectolitres. The heart of the estate is certainly the farmhouse. The first testimonies of this ancient dwelling date back to the mid-1500s, found on an old print illustrating the territory between Cavaion and Calmasino, where the area is indicated with the words “Contrà Predelle”. Nowadays, this place rich of history has become the Lamberti House, a tavern where it is possible to buy all the wines of the company.
Tasting Note:
Deep, rich garnet colour. Intense aromas of dried figs and raisins overlaid with warm Christmas spices. This is a big wine beautifully structured. Warm concentrated flavours with chocolate and treacle. Weighty mouthfeel with lovely sweetness of fruit, leading to a very long finish. A real classic.
