Genetie Bourgogne Blanc Illumine Chardonnay
Southern Burgundy, France
2 x 75cl bottles
A classic Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy - fine buttery and floral notes on the nose and a wine of substance and finesse on the palate. Some creamy textural notes up front reveal the discreet presence of oak, whilst on the finish there is some underlying minerality and a hint of citrus zestiness that provides long lasting flavours.
Chateau Haut Bessac Bordeaux
Entre-Deux-Mers
2 x 75cl bottles
The Glotin family has been producing wines in Entre-Deux-Mers since 1930, when they acquired XXVIIIth century Château Goudichaud. One of the first female winemakers, Henriette Glotin, devoted herself passionately to her family domaine. Today, her grandson Yves runs Goudichaud in the same spirit of respect for the traditions that followed before, now producing 5 labels of very great wine. Haut-Bessac, their first label, produces wines of finesse that are accessible to everyone. The blanc is a perfect blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, distinguishing itself with floral aromas and citrus fruit. It is an easy wine, crisp and voluptuous, a modern day Entre-Deux-Mers.
This wine distinguishes itself with its floral aromas, mingling white flowers, blackcurrant and citrus fruits. It reflects our savoir-faire and our terroir. The nose amazes right from the first scent, the round and voluptuous mouth maintains a good persistency of the aromas which develop and increase.
Camí del Drac, Carignan Blanc, Vielles Vignes
Languedoc, France
2 x 75cl bottles
his Carignan Blanc vineyard is planted in the village of Tarerach at 550m altitude on granitic sand soils. In the words of the winemaker, ‘this is a wild wine, made in a shed in the hills of the Roussillon.’ Expressive, floral and vibrant. Citrus fruit flavours combine with a subtle herbal twist and minerality through to the finish.
Sauvignon de Touraine Patrick Vauvy
Loire Valley, France
2 x 75cl bottles
The Domaine has been in the hands of the Vauvy family for generations, Patrick took over and has brought new vision and an experimental style to the Domaine. He is often the last of his neighbours to harvest. Located above the banks of the Cher River, the soil is predominantly sand based giving the wines a fruit driven, immediately appealing style.
Attractively aromatic, rich dry Sauvignon showing the fruit character of fully ripe grapes. Exotic fruits in abundance on the nose and just a hint of mint. On the pallet its fresh and tangy and the finish is fruity and moreish.
Domaine de Montine Viognier
Rhone Valley, France
2 x 75cl bottles
The most aromatic, perfumed and sensational wine and this is not an overstatement. We have started importing the wines of Domaine de Montine, a family winery, less than a year ago. Their values are the same as ours - really high quality wines, made with care and attention for a great price. This will be wonderful with fish, seafood starters and white meat dishes. A real treat and a great introduction to white wines from the Rhone Valley.
La Lisse Soie Chenin Blanc
Languedoc, France
2 x 75cl bottles
This ripe yet crunchy fruit gives this wine its freshness, vigour and spine and at the same time its luscious texture which is further complemented and enriched from one third vinified and matured for nine months in seasoned French oak. A delicious wine, crisp and dry with refreshing acidity and a hint of creaminess, with mouth filling ripe fruit and a long lingering finish.
