WineOnline.ie was founded in 1999, before the turn of the century! We are the oldest and proudest wine website and we love what we do. Our team is made up of dedicated people who all want to bring you the best wines, gifts and spirits they can find. We are continuously adding to our portfolio, and our mission is to bring you the widest selection of wines, spirits, cocktails and gifts available in one place in Ireland.
We import many of our wines direct from wineries across the world. Our team of Wine Advisors and our tasting panel approve and taste every single bottle we import and sell. Quality is what drives us, and if we wouldn't drink it ourselves, we wouldn't want you to! We always strive to bring you value, whatever the price.
We also love nothing more than a challenge. If you are looking for a wine that you cannot see, or a gift that isn't quite available - speak with us. We are always happy to source wines we do not have listed, or to make bespoke gifts for you, your friends or team.
We wholesale wines and spirits to specialist shops, independent off licences, clubs and restaurants. You are welcome to email us anytime to hello@wineonline.ie and one of our team will be able to help you.
Anne Mullin |
Anne founded WineOnline.ie with Gerry in 1999. They studied and completed their diplomas in wine together in the same class of 1991. Both were really passionate about wine and were keen to embrace a brand new concept in selling on the internet. This was before companies like Ryanair had a website! She was a founding member of Dublin Wine Club Premier Cru, which is still running after 20 years.

Every Monday was wine club night in my house growing up. As a 13 year old I was fascinated at the table of bottles covered with brown bags, covered up so that everyone around the table could guess what wine was in each. On by one they would guess the regions, grape varieties, alcohol levels and producers. It fascinated me, and my obsession with wine began. As a twenty year old I was lucky to see vineyards across Australia, New Zealand and America and this further fuelled my goal to one day join the family business. In 2012 I did just that and have been lucky to never work a day in my life, doing a job I love. As a small family owned business, we rely on the loyalty and generosity of our community and our team. I am proudest of the great team of dedicated people working at WineOnline.ie and the great relationships we have with our customers and suppliers. When I’m not finding the next great wine to drink, or the next best producer, I am generally found with my family or out for a few miles with my group of running friends. My favourite glass of wine is a glass of Bordeaux. Everything else always compares but falls short, at best! will@wineonline.ie +353 1 5820841 |

Elaine spent over 10 years in the Not-for-profit sector with Ireland’s leading children’s charity, Barnardos. In 2018 she made the switch and joined WineOnline.ie as Head of Operations. Elaine and Will are married since 2010 and have two children under ten, Sally and Ed. Since they started working together, there is a greater work life balance and less time spent commuting. Elaine keeps everyone in WineOnline.ie on the straight and narrow and is big on the overall strategic vision for the business - she loves a good planning meeting! When she’s not working you’ll most likely find Elaine by the coast enjoying a sea swim - hail, rain or shine. When the time comes, a glass of (ice cold) Chardonnay with a little oak is her favourite, and she always goes back, again and again to Iona, from Elgin in South Africa which she describes as: ‘my perfect wine’! elaine@wineonline.ie +353 1 5820843 |
I started my wine journey in 1989 working in Café Clara moving to Locks in Portobello in 1992. Since then I have studied to diploma level and have always worked in the wine trade in some form or another. In my spare time, I run and play music but not together, I’ve tried!

When you place an order with WineOnline.ie there’s a great chance it has passed through my hands. I oversee every parcel that leaves our warehouse. After stints in the on trade, I eventually became a whiskey ambassador in Dublin Airport. I spent 4 years leading the retail team at the Jameson Distillery in Dublin and I love keeping abreast of the latest developments and new product lines of Irish Whiskey. When I am not running warehouse operations, I love spending time with my two dogs ….. and of course my family! I also think it is important to try to do as much charity work as possible - I like to help out where I can. A little help can go a long way. I’ll sometimes enjoy a whiskey at the end of the week, and I find it hard to look past Yellow Spot from Midleton.

Sean spent over 15 years in finance and insurance. He dedicated himself to switching to a career he loved and he has never looked back since. He’s been part of the team here since September 2019. Married to Lisa, with two small children, life is busy. When he’s not in the warehouse or working on photography for the website he’s either with the family or studying the latest rum release. While he has always been passionate about music, he has discovered a real love of rum in recent years and has already convinced the rest of the team that rum is every bit as great as whiskey. He is on a mission to convince you as well. You’ll can follow him on Instagram @dukes_rum_place

If you call the office at any stage, you’ll most likely speak with Nelcina. She heads up customer service and processes all of your orders. She’s been with WineOnline.ie since November 2021 and she is the super organised part of the team. She is from Brazil and has been in Ireland since 2016. At the weekends she loves long walks with plenty of quiet time to relax and admire the beautiful views of Ireland. She's enjoying discovering the hidden gems of Irelands coastline with her family and there’s few places she hasn’t been. There are very few days here as warm and sunny as Brazil, but she loves an ice cold gin and tonic with lime in the sunshine. Though lately she’s discovering red Italian wines and is enjoying exploring new grapes and regions across Italy. |
Pawel came to WineOnline.ie with a lifetime of experience in warehousing, logistics and transportation. He has worked in this area for over 12 years and it was his wife Patrycja who convinced him to combine his work experience with his love of wine. He brought her on a wine tour of Chianti in 2014 for her birthday and he became hooked. Since then, he has travelled to Madrid, Barcelona, Champagne and the Duoro Valley in Portugal. Pawel is passionate about cooking and his favourite dish to cook is Spanish Paella, as well as Mexican tacos. When he isn’t drinking his favourite Italian wine, he’s either watching the TV or walking the dog! Pawel packs all of your hampers and looks after dispatch of all of the parcels for our sister website TheGinBox.ie and we’ve loved having him as part of the team since early 2021. |

Elaine has always worked in family businesses and feels like it is easier to make a bigger impact in a smaller company, rather than the other way around. She looks after the purse strings and she is the gatekeeper of finance here. She has been part of the team since March 2022 but says she already feels like she has been here years! In her spare time (what spare time she says?!) she enjoys baking novelty cakes for family and friends and raising her kids to be the best version of themselves that they can be. She loves camping with her family and can generally be found with a good glass of Montepulciano in her hand on a campsite every weekend in the summer! She’s also a GAA coach for her daughters GAA team and together with her love of reading novels, it’s easy to see why there’s no time for any more hobbies! |
Gerry spent his early working life working for Bass Brewery. He was fascinated by wine early on, and he opened up Jus de Vine off licence in Portmarnock, Dublin in the early 90's. Not content with sitting still, he and Anne decided to try their hand selling wine on the internet before the turn of the millennium. Ireland's first Online Wine Warehouse launched in 1999 and declared themselves 'wired for wine'. The concept took off and people quickly began trusting Anne and Gerry's wine selections. Gerry travelled to many wine shows globally and began importing wines from all over the world to the Irish market for direct consumption. Buying direct cut costs, and operating from a logistics warehouse kept overhead costs down, so all of the value created could be passed onto the consumer. It is still our business model today, and whilst semi retired, Gerry sits on our tasting panel, evaluating every wine that comes our way, before we decide whether it will sit amongst the almost 700 different wines we import annually. gerry@wineonline.ie |
