Description:
Acknowledged as one of the wineries in La Rioja with most tradition and history of producing Reserva wines, true oenological treasures that are proof of the greatness and know-how of a winery.
This soft, particularly pleasant red wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes, the best-known Spanish grape for the production of quality red wines, and comes from Rioja, probably the best-known wine region in Spain. Wines from Rioja must meet all kinds of rules to be allowed to carry the Rioja appellation.
This Rioja Reserva proudly carries the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja quality mark and is also designated as a Reserva. A Rioja Reserva must be aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels and then another 24 months in the winery's cellars, or vice versa. These wines may also not be marketed before the fourth year after their harvest year, which double guarantees this maturation. This results in full, sturdy, beautifully developed wines that are definitely worth discovering! This dark, deep purple colored wine offers very pleasant aromas of ripe cherries and berries as well as a hint of licorice and a hint of spice. The taste experience is soft, ripe and supple with a firm, pleasant body and again lots of ripe dark fruit, a hint of sal ammoniac and clear notes of wood aging such as vanilla and toast in the background. The aftertaste is soft and juicy and lasts a long time due to its ripe fruit notes and wood aging.
Every bottle that comes from the estate is bottled there, and comes from their own vineyards, making sure that consistency and quality always prevail. There is a 3.5 million bottle cellar at the winery where all of their wines age and it’s open to the public if you ever find yourself close to them!
Tasting Note:
Garnet-red colour with purple hues, clear and bright. A very rounded, well-balanced wine with a full, long aftertaste. Especially suitable for accompanying charcuterie and medium-strength cheeses, grilled and barbecued meat.
