Château Philippe-Le-Hardi En Vesveau Saint Aubin
Country: France Region: Burgundy
Varietal: Chardonnay
Vintage: 2021 Colour: White Style: Dry
Producer: Chateau de Santenay
Description:
Although it's tucked between the two prestigious 'Montrachet' villages of Chassagne and Puligny, you can still find great value in Saint-Aubin. And it has its own fantastic reputation for fine, steely Chardonnay. This is made on a small 4-hectare vineyard there. It has notes of apricot, citrus and vanilla. Serve this lightly chilled with sea bass.
Tasting Note:
A very elegant and well balanced wine with notes of white peach, apricots and sweet vanilla. The Saint Aubin En Vesveau uses a traditional style of wine-making whereby the grapes are crushed in a pneumatic press. The must then settles and ferments in oak barrels for 12 hours before ageing in oak for 12 months. While this vintage is yet to be reviewed, other vintages have been highly reviewed by reputable sources such as Jancis Robinson, Decanter and Wine Enthusiast.
