The arrival in 2015 of winemaker Almudena Alberca, who became a Master of Wine three years later, meant a leap forward in terms of quality as she updated the traditional range and sought contemporary styles. She is also the group’s technical director.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAgeing:\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eReserva requires three years ageing with at least twelve months in oak, and most producers exceed the minimum. Ribera del Duero sits on the high Castilian plateau at around 800 metres, where summer days reach forty degrees and nights fall to single figures.
