A noticeably darker colour for this special sherry-finished Tyrconnell single malt. Bottled at the ideal strength of 46%, this whiskey picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010. The sherry cask whiskey has a rich, but smooth texture with flavours of caramel toffee, dried fruits and citrus peel. One of the more full-flavoured whiskeys from this distillery.
The Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish whiskey is a historic Irish whiskey brand born from the Watt Distillery in the late 18th century.
Nose Strong rich sherry characters, it has a strong Fino feel to it, very grape-like, with notes chocolate, creme caramel, dried fruits and exotic spices. A touch of toasty oak.
Palate Utterly decadent fruity and sweet. Despite the warm and earthy flavours it remains fresh and fruity keeping within the distillery's character.
Finish More of that sherry, with apple tart and cinnamon.
