Description:
Located in Mendoza (Argentina's most important and presitigious growing area), Trapiche is simultaneously a historic and thoroughly modern winery. The hand-harvested grapes for the Malbec Oak Cask are sourced from the best parcels in Trapiche's high-altitude Finca 1883 and Finca Las Palmas vineyards. Before bottling, the wine is aged in French and American barrels for 12 months, endowing the Malbec with a graceful, integrated touch of oak. The Trapiche Malbec Oak Cask is a wine of substance and soul, a wine which reflects the qualities which have made Trapiche a winery decorated in the wine press and wine competitions as a perennial source of excellence and value.
Ageing Potential: 3 Years
Tasting Note:
Pronounced dark cassis and plum fruits, overlaid with liquorice and vanilla. A mature wine, rich and robust with a pleasant flavoursome finish. The oak seperates this from most Malbecs and softens the beautiful finish.
