Marqués de Cáceres Gran Reserva Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Gran Reserva is made only in excellent vintages. The wine has dense, deep ruby colour, an intense aromas of ripe fruits of the forest and Morello cherries blended with slightly toasted vanilla notes. This wine is fresh, powerful, full-bodied and fleshy in the mouth, showing great complexity with notes of roasted coffee, spice, plum and strawberry . It delivers superb tannins that highlight its structure and complexity. It undergoes nearly two-and-a-half years ageing in highest quality oak barrels, followed by further ageing in bottle before release. A Gran Reserva has an impressive personality that comes through on tasting with richness, body, balanced flavours to delight the palate, elegance and intense, long-lasting aftertaste.
Beronia Crianza Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles Beronia was founded in 1973 by a group of friends who visited La Rioja on holiday. They shared a love of its food and wine and even had their own gastronomic society. They were driven by this passion and decided to create their own wine to pair with local cuisines – and Bodegas Beronia was born. It's bright with blackberry, red-fruit and vanilla notes. It's aged for 12 months in oak, a short period of time by Rioja standards. As a result, it's all about the fruit, and this means it's great with Iberian cold cuts.
Viña Pomal Reserva Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles Vina Pomal's Rioja Reserva is deep cherry red in colour with an intense ruby rim. The nose is intense and elegant. Floral notes and red fruit which blend with sweet spices (Vanilla) and roasted coffee. There's a long lingering finish with the balance of great Riojas.
Marqués de Riscal Reserva Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles Marqués de Riscal Reserva is one of the most famous wines in Spain, due to its long history, consistent high quality and also for the many literary references it has inspired over the years.
Very versatile and a faithful example of a Rioja wine, Marqués de Riscal Reserva has been enjoyed for generations by wine lovers all over the world, and praised by celebrities from the world of the arts and culture such as Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dalí or Frederick Forsyth.
Famous for its bottle wrapped in a metallic gold mesh, today it can be found in over 100 countries, and it is regarded as a benchmark for Rioja red wines. This wine stands for the dreams of the previous generations at Marqués de Riscal.
Bodegas Muga Blanco Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles Muga Blanco was fermented in new French oak barrels (60%) and in small oak vats and was kept with lees for three months, a change they started in 2016, giving it more time with lees and bottling it a little later. This is not light; it's 13.6% alcohol, but it keeps very good freshness and very healthy acidity with less oak than in the past. This was a bit reductive and took some time to open up. It's balanced and has integrated oak. It was a good year for Garnacha Blanca, and it represents almost 15% of the blend this year. So, it's a little more Mediterranean than previous. A delicious wine.
El Coto Blanco 875 Meters Rioja, Spain 2 x 75cl bottles This fresh and succulent Chardonnay displays citrus, peach and tropical aromas alongside delicate notes of vanilla and brioche. On the palate, ripe stone fruit notes are supported by hazelnut and vanilla flavours, which are complemented by a creaminess from the bâtonnage. We would happily drink this instead of Chablis Premier Cru!
