Jean-Joseph Moreau, a young cooper (barrel maker), set up a shop in Chablis in 1814 and married a local winemaker’s daughter. This was the beginning of the House of Moreau. After having been a pioneer in the Chablis region over the years Moreau became one of the main producers of Chablis in the region as well as being a significant wine broker. J. Moreau is known for its expertise and the style of its wines that seeks harmony in the expression of the terroir.
Today Moreau also produces quality house wines in the South of France. For the last 16 years Moreau has been under the ownership of the distinguished French wine company Boisset.Ageing Potential: 8 Years
