If you love Sauvignon Blanc then you'll love this mix. We have brought together Sauvignons from 5 countries here - New Zealand, Chile, France, South Africa and Argentina. While Sauvignon Blanc has a linear style and taste, it can be manipulated brilliantly by winemakers the world over. The overriding style of this bunch is fresh and vibrant but each one of the following wines are slightly different - from the more rounded style in France by Tresors de Loire (open this one 2 hours before drinking) to the citrus smacking creaminess of Los Espinos from Chile. Aloe Tree from South Africa is superb with food and Lindemans from New Zealand is a typically grassy and fresh Sauvignon. All in all, this is the complete package for a Sauvignon Blanc fan.
2 x The Secretary Bird Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa
The winery receives the grapes before midday. They are destemmed and crushed into strainers where the free run is pumped gently to tank. The Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at between 11C and 13C. The ferment is likely to last around 10 days. The wine is racked after ferment and then kept on fine lees right up until bottling. This crisp and fruity Sauvignon blanc has lifted green fruit aromas complemented by subtle flavours of ripe apples, citrus acidity and a long mineral finish
2 x Los Espinos Sauvignon Blanc, Chile
It’s almost a cliché to suggest the Chile is a viticultural paradise but with natural barriers and protection in the form of deserts, mountains and oceans, it really is one of the most exciting places to make wine. The Los Espinos range explores some of the premium varietals most adapted to the climate and offers stunning value both in terms of packaging and quality of wine. Drawing on vineyard resources in Casablanca and Maipo, Los Espinos combines cutting edge winemaking, with regional typicity to provide a range that is at the beating heart of the country. This lively little Sauvignon is bursting with vibrant zesty citrus fruit and a hint of exotic guava. Hugely refreshing, this crisp and aromatic wine is endlessly quaffable. Soft super-juicy ripe fruit and a long full-flavoured finish.
2 x Tresors de Loire, Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley, France
From the home of Sauvignon Blanc in Touraine is a classy Sauvignon that displays balance and freshness, showing how amazing the grape can be when made in less zingy styles! A mouthwatering delicious sauvignon that trips across the tongue with fresh fruit.
