Country: France Region: Bordeaux (Pauillac)
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot Blend
Vintage: 2010 Colour: Red Style: Dry
Producer: Chateau Lynch Bages
Description:
The second wine of Chateau Lynch Bages. Deep ruby red with mellow plum and blackberry fruits. Subtle oak ageing gives a good degree of complexity. A superb wine, drinking beautifully now yet capable for ageing for the next five to ten years.
Tasting Note:
This wine is made from 26% of the production of the Lynch Bages vineyard. The deep colour and impressive concentration. There is good cassis character & some firm tannic structure suggests that this is not a second wine for immediate drinking. Jean-Charles Cazes says that this reminds him of the Haut Bages Averous 1982 & 1990. It is certainly an exceptional second wine.
