Meanwhile here's some snaps of our last food and wine evenings with Steve Webber of DeBortoli Vineyards in Australia and David Baverstock of Esporao Winery in Portugal. The evenings was held in the Tapa's Bar of Bon Appetit Restaurant in Malahide North County Dublin and in Cleaver East Restaurant in Temple Bar, Dublin.
The Esporao evening was a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed evening. David is widely regarded as the man who single handedly put Portugal on the map of wine producing nations in the world. He is Cliff Richards WineMaker and he oversees operations as Chief WineMaker for Herdade de Esporao, Portugals largest winery. David had been in Ireland for three days doing masterclasses and he came to Bon Appetit with us, on his very last night. He said it was the most enjoyable time of his trip, because it was fun, friendly and relaxed.

THE WINES - Tickets were limited to 25 and we tasted 8 of De Bortoli's Premium Wines, Including their Botrytis Semillon!
Leanne De Bortoli, Owner of De Bortoli and Grandaughter of Founder, DeenDe Bortoli discussed the vineyard cycle with one of the diners.
Steve Webber, Chief Winemaker discussed the use of Oak in his wines and how it influences the style he strives for.
Steve worked the room where he answered peoples questions as he circulated - The diners were pretty impressed with the one to one attention he gave them and some said if it that it allowed them to understand how and why he made the wines he does, and what influences him.
