Poggio al Tesoro is the result of a joint venture between the Allegrini family of Verona, northern Italy and American importer, Leonardo Lo Cascio. Situated in Bolgheri, on Italy‰۪s Tyrrhenian coast, this 70 hectare property was acquired in 2001 by the Allegrini family. They brought in consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini to advise on viticulture and winemaking. 2003 was the first vintage.
Ageing Potential:1-3 Years
Deep straw yellow in colour, it is fine and clean on the nose, with floral and fruity perfumes characteristic of Vermentino including white flowers, apricot and tropical fruits. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with good balance between fruit and a fresh zippy acidity.
