Before the current owners bought Chateau Bauduc it made very ordinary wine indeed. When Gavin Quinney bought it his goal was to make top class wines worthy of any restaurant table.
Now his Sauvignon Blanc is the house wine in Gordon Ramsay's three Michelin star restaurant Royal Hospital Road and all of Rick Steins restaurants.
It is also on the lists of The Savoy and Petrus.
Oz Clarke is a huge fan stating "Bordeaux needs another 100 Bauducs-and fast"
Tasting notes: The Sauvignon Blanc has a beautiful nose of Citrus, Elderflower and Gooseberry. The Palate is dry, crisp juicy but really elegant with a clean and zesty finish.
Food match: This wine is crying out for white fish sprinkled with a dash of lemon.
The red like most Bordeaux wines is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting notes: The nose on the red is full of smokey, savoury notes as well toffee, mint and vanilla. As well as all of this you will get red berries and black currants with a little sprinkling if spice on the finish.
Food match: We couldn't look past roast lamb I'm afraid.
All in all together these wines are perfect for a home cooked meal.
