2023 Wines of The Year | Wine Buyer Anne 12 Btl.Case

There are a team of us at Wineonline.ie responsible for the wines we taste and choose to stock. Anne works mostly in the sourcing & logistics of getting these new wines into Ireland and liasing with export managers around the world. This case includes all of her favourite Wines of the Year 2023. 

Below she explains the reasons for the inclusion of each wine and why it merits a place in her Wines Of The Year Mixed Case. 

Santa Margherita Lugana
Lake Garda, Italy

'Another favourite white wine of mine from Lake Garda in Italy. I love this at the weekend - It is full of freshness, with a crisp, citrus minerality that bites like a great Chablis. The fruit is really ripe here and the mouthfeel is so filling and rich. It's a real find and one I regularly recommend to customers who all seem genuinely delighted to discover it!'

Shadow Point Chardonnay 
Central Coast, USA

'The Shadow Point Chardonnay is another favourite from the USA. California only seems to have cheap jug wines and expensive top wines, but this one is very affordable and delicious'

Chateau La Fleur Cravignac 
Saint Emilion Grand Cru, France

I love this wine for a real treat. it is extremely special and the 2018 vintage is drinking really well right now. I could not list my wines of the year and not include this. I will have it for Christmas Day and have had so many lovely nights where we have opened this in the past 12 months.

'This is our house wine at home. It always delivers. I love the creamy texture , vanilla and red fruit aromas and mouth-filling fruit on the palate. 
It is a wine I am always happy to recommend and one I think is perfect to have in the house when people are calling over Christmas'

Chateau Roc de Levraut
Bordeaux Superieur, France

This wine has been a favourite of mine for a long time and it's excellent value for such a quality Bordeaux Superieur' says Anne.
WineOnline.ie have been importing it for over 8 years now and it's a real customer favourite.

Tenute del Pojo Chardonnay
Abruzzo, Italy

The Di Camillo Chardonnay is a great midweek glass of crisp dry white wine, great purity of ripe fruit and no oak in sight. 

It has a refreshing crisp dry finish, which I love. It is another wine that I think would be great to have for Christmas when people with different wine tastes call over. It is uncomplicated but crisp and delicious at the same time.
