Shadow Point Pinot Noir
Monterey, California, USA
2 x 75cl
This wine combines delicious red cherry and dried cranberry concentration, with a touch of dark spice. The palate has wild bramble and cherry pie notes. It finishes bright, fresh and gently toasty.
Fruit is sourced from a vineyard in Monterey, California’s Central Coast region and sit next to a chain of hills which separate the vineyards from the Pacific coast. The site benefits from the cooling breezes from the Pacific and as such lends itself to Pinot Noir. Fruit is destemmed before undergoing a period of cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and 30% of the blend has then spent 8 months on medium toast French oak. Pair with nduja topped pizza, crispy duck pancakes in hoisin sauce or Spag bol.

Iona Estate 'Mr P' Pinot Noir
Elgin, South Africa
2 x 75cl
Certainly one of the most attractively packaged wines online, but its not all about appearances with this one.
A feminine nose of morello cherries, strawberry, violet and cranberry.
The palate is light and attractive, raspberry, cherry and pepper spice. Velvety tannins and well balanced acidity lend an elegance to this wine which is often hard to find in Pinot at this price level.
It is a versatile style of wine which will fit white meat dishes very well. The producer is awesome and all the wines fromAndrew Gunns Iona Estate are worth seeking out. his Syrah just won a Platinum medal at the World Wine Awards - a feat achieved by 0.6% of 19,000 wines submitted!

Montsable Reserve Pinot Noir
Limoux, France
2 x 75cl
This wine comes from the French wine-making project of our good friend and Master Of Wine Fergal Tynan. He's originally from Celbridge and now has fantastic and fanatic wine making projects across the globe. Never far from Grenache or Garnacha, this particular set of wines comes from France and sits under the label they created called Terres Fidèles, which literally means "faithful lands". The team here have identified grape varieties that many others ignore in favour of middle-of-the-road commercialised styles; working with seriously small and tatty-looking plots of land, this is a labour of love and a project that will be years and years in the making before anyone makes any return on investment. But until then, we get the sensational fruit of their labours...! The wine is awesome and is aged in French Oak Barriques.

Solevari Reserve Pinot Noir
Tsibilsi, Romania
2 x 75cl
Back in 1988, three families decided to invest in a winery in Romania, starting with 650 hectares of slightly unloved vineyards and a rusty, once state-owned winery.
Yet Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have turned the Cramele Recas Estate into the most successful winery in Romania. Recas are now recognised globally for their impressive scale and breadth of fascinating wines, including natural and orange wine from organic grapes. Despite the scale the emphasis is on making good wines that over-deliver, and as a result they’ve struck on a magic formula that has seen sales and demand boom. Vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and more recent planting, whilst the winery has seen significant investment and boasts state of the art facilities where innovation thrives. Recas are in every way a modern, dynamic winery, whose open minded approach and quality sets them apart … a winery you really can’t ignore.
Purple red colour, with violet flecks. Intense red and black fruits (sour cherries, blueberries, cranberries) floral aromas. This has lovely acidity, a medium body, pleasant tannins, and a delightful slightly bitter and spicy finish. Excellent balance of aromas, alcohol and tannins.

Santa Macarena Pinot Noir
Leyda Valley, Chile
2 x 75cl
Santa Macarena Pinot Noir is a single vineyard Pinot Noir that is bright, aromatic and fresh with subtle oak playing a supporting role. The emphasis on the delicious red fruit flavours, drinkability and enjoyment. A seriously cool Pinot.
It is a single vineyard Pinot Noir from one of the most coastal vineyards in Chile in San Antonio just 5 km from the ocean, within a small vineyard region 55 miles west of central Santiago and just south of Casablanca Valley. Morning mists and spring frosts, often associated with the Napa Valley and Bordeaux are brought from the west coast by the Humboldt current.
Aging takes place in oak for six months to add complexity and oaky character to final wines. Final wines have a deep red- purple colour with delicate sweet red fruit flavours and aromas.
Maso Montalto Pinot Noir
Trentino, Italy
2 x 75cl
Close your eyes and you are drinking red Burgundy, this Pinot Noir is made with the same love and care as the best wines of Burgundy. This 2018 vintage is drinking beautifully now but will reward another 3 to 5 years if you can wait that long.
